Steve Vai

Steve Vai was born on June 6th, 1960 in New York. Steve Vai becomes famous while playing with one of the most-distinguished rock guitar players and composers - Frank Zappa. Steve Vai is well known for his guitar instrumental music records.

Steve Vai has played & recorded with many rock legends. In the 80's he played lead guitar in Alcatrazz. Later Steve Vai joined David Lee Roth's (former Van Halen lead singer) band and recorded several albums. Vai recorded the album Slip of the Tongue with Whitesnake.

Steve Vai has his own band, but he also tours with other famous guitar players like Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen. Steve Vai received a Grammy Award in 1991.
